Composition
Each dosage unit contains: Tablet 1 ml Drop Suppository (for children)
Pipazethate hydrochloride 20 mg 40 mg 10 mg
Inactive ingredients:
SELGON Suppositories: Isopropyl myristate, hard fat.
Therapeutic Indications
Non-productive irritant and spasmodic cough; for example, smoker's cough, and symptoms of common cold which often include non-productive cough.

Dosage and Administration
Age Tablets Drops Supp.
Babies & Infants up to 2 years old 4 drops Up to 3 times daily
Children 2-6 years old 8 drops Up to 3 times daily 1 supp.
2-3 times daily
Children 6-12 years old 10 drops Up to 3 times daily 1 supp.
3 times daily
Children above 12 years old 1 tablet 3 times daily 20 drops 3 times daily
Adults 1-2 tablets 3 times daily 15-25 drops Up to 3 times daily

In severe irritative cough, the dose may be doubled if necessary.
SELGON drops should preferably be taken on sugar or on some fluid (fruit juice, milk, tea.....etc.)
Contraindications
In patients with sugar intolerance.

Warnings and Precautions
SELGON may cause drowsiness, therefore patients in charge of vehicles or machinery should be cautioned.

Pregnancy and Lactation
SELGON should be used with caution in pregnancy.

Undesirable Effects
SELGON occasionally causes drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, restlessness, insomnia or urticaria.

Pharmacological Properties
SELGON is a centrally-acting cough suppressant which also has some peripheral actions in non-productive cough.
It provides relief within 10-30 minutes and its effect lasts for many hours.
SELGON has the advantage of being non-addicting with no liability of drug abuse; and also it does not cause central respiratory depression.

Storage
SELGON Tablets: Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
SELGON Drops: Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
SELGON Suppositories for children: Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

Packaging
SELGON Tablets: Box containing 2 blisters of 10 tablets each.
SELGON Drops: Plastic dropper bottle of 15 ml.
SELGON Suppositories for children: Pack of 6 suppositories.
