في علاج النزيف أو النزيف المهدَّف المرتبط بانخفاض مستوى الدم في البروثرومبين أو العامل السابع.
كترياق للأدوية المضادة للتخثر من نوع الكومارين.
الجرعة و الإدارة
أقراص Epikavit: هي للإعطاء عن طريق الفم ويجب أن تمضغ أو يسمح لها بحل ببطء في الفم.
الكبار:
كترياق للأدوية المضادة للتخثر.
من أجل النزيف المميت والشديد:
Epikavit Intravenous Injection: (انظر معلومات وصف منفصلة).
للنزيف أقل حدة:
يتم إعطاء Epikavit عن طريق الفم بجرعات 10-20 ملغ (1 إلى 2 حبة). ويقدر مستوى البروثرومبين بعد 8-12 ساعة ، وإذا كانت الاستجابة غير كافية ، يجب تكرار الجرعة.
تخفيض البروثرومبين إلى مستوى خطير ولكن لا نزف:
قد تعطى جرعة من 10 ملغ Epikavit شفويا لإعادة مستوى البروثرومبين إلى حدود آمنة. في مثل هذه الحالات ، ليس من الضروري عادة التوقف عن مضادات التجلط.
الكبار:

Inactive ingredients: Lactose anhydrous D.C., avicel, calcium phosphate dibasic, povidone K 25, cocoa flavour, Iron oxide red, Iron oxide black, carmina dark brown color, aspartame, colloidal silicon dioxide, carboxymethyl cellulose, lactose, polyethylene glycol 6000, eudragit, sucrose, polyethylene glycol 35000, polysorbate 20, talc purified, calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide, aerosil 200.
Therapeutic Indications
Epikavit is indicated:
In the treatment of haemorrhage or threatened haemorrhage associated with a low blood level of prothrombin or factor VII.
As an antidote to anticoagulant drugs of the coumarin type.
Dosage and Administration
Epikavit Tablets: are for oral administration and should be chewed or allowed to dissolve slowly in the mouth.
Adults:
As an antidote to anticoagulant drugs.
For potentially fatal and severe haemorrhages:
Epikavit Intravenous Injection: (see separate prescribing information).
For less severe haemorrhage:
Epikavit is given orally in doses of 10-20 mg (1 to 2 tablets).
The prothrombin level is estimated 8-12 hours later, and if the response has been inadequate, the dose should be repeated.
Lowering of prothrombin to dangerous level but no haemorrhage:
A dose of 10 mg Epikavit orally may be given to bring the prothrombin level back to within safe limits.
In such instances it is not usually necessary to discontinue the anticoagulant.
Adults:
Other indications:
Doses of 10 - 20 mg as required.
Elderly:
Elderly patients tend to be more sensitive to reversal of anticoagulation with Epikavit; dosage in this group should be at the lower end of the ranges recommended.
Children:
If, on the recommendation of a physician, a children's dosage is required, then it is suggested that 10 mg be given.
Contraindications
Use in patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of the constituents.
Warnings and Precautions
Large doses of Epikavit should be avoided if it is intended to continue with anticoagulant therapy.
Vitamin K1 is not an antidote to heparin.
Epikavit tablets contain lactose.
Patients with rare galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine.
Epikavit tablets contain aspartame which is a source of phenylalanine, so it may be harmful for people with phenylketonuria
